Marbella

The year was 1999, Marbella and was beginning to boom. Wiley Scot, Iain Blackwell assembled his creative troops and launched Essential Marbella, and just like some of my friends in those days, it was glossy, fat and interesting.
Fast forward 20 years, Essential is still the leading printed magazine on the coast and shows no sign of stopping and having survived the recession I see no reason why it would.
Friends, associates and faithful clients were all specially invited to celebrate this quite amazing milestone, for any business to survive this long in Marbella is nothing sort of a miracle.
Going against all traditions of Picts and Gaels being tighter than David Beckhams Y-Fronts, Blackwell ensured a free bar flowed throughout the night and delicious food was always at hand. As I left the party later in the evening, having rekindled ancient friendships and forged a few new ones, Desperados, an excellent Eagles tribute band fittingly struck up the classic tune "The Long Run" so I won't be surprised if we all meet again in 2029.
